STEPS Institute Grants and Awards:
2004| 2005 |2006 |2007(Graduate) | 2007(Undergraduate )

Since its inception in 2002, the STEPS Institute's Sustaining Donors have provided major contributions to underwrite graduate fellowships, grants, and awards; research collaborations; and other STEPS initiatives. We offer our grateful appreciation for their support of interdisciplinary partnerships and their commitment to environmental research.

The Hammett Fund Student Research Grants

In 2008, community leaders Benjamin and Ruth Hammett made a generous gift to the STEPS Institute to fund research for UCSC students working on climate change and issues related to climate change and water. A campus-wide competition for these awards resulted in awards for the twelve students below to conduct research in these important areas, promoting interdisciplinary research within four departments and two divisions. In 2009, Dr. Hammet graciously renewed his gift to provide for continuing research on these critical issues.
